Tony Sosby’s Story:

I was born and raised in Paris, Kentucky which is in the home of some of the finest thoroughbred farms in the world. For over 25 years, I worked with notable farms which have produced stallions known the world over. Some of these majestic animals include: Sunday Silence (Kentucky Derby Winner, Preakness and the Breeders’ Cup Classic 1989), Unbridled (Kentucky Derby and Breeder’s Cup Classic 1990) and Princess Rooney.

On April 30, 2002, all of that changed. I was working on a tractor in a field by a stream after it had rained for 5 days. While trying to remove debris and fix a water pipe, I had to step off the tractor and slipped. I ended up under a six-foot bush hog that was taking me in, and it got both my legs. Fortunately, I was able to break free before I was pulled in completely. There was no one around, and I had to crawl up a hill to get enough phone signal to call for help. I was taken by helicopter to the University of Kentucky. During the trip, I was resuscitated twice. I am lucky to be alive.

Today, I am an above the ankle (AK) and below the ankle (BK)amputee.

The last 15 years have been up and down for me and my family, but in February of 2017, I started a new phase of my life. I began a career as a car salesman at CarTown of Paris. It is a new experience for me, and I totally love it. I really enjoy talking to the people.
I am blessed to have a beautiful wife and family. Brenda and I have been married for over 31 years and have a combined 3 kids and 7 grandkids (2 girls and 5 boys). We have two daughters (Robbi Lynn and Amber Nicole) and a son (Joshua Brent).

For over 30 years,I have been hunting and am still active today. I enjoy hunting deer in Bernheim Forest, and turkey at the Eric Corey Foundation Turkey Track. I am looking forward to my 2018 Hunt with Nevada Outdoorsmen in Wheelchairs this August.

Lizzy Pritchett Story:

My name is Lizzy Pritchett. I’m 27 years old, and live in Elko, Nevada. I’ve always been about loving and living life to its fullest potential. Before my accident, I raced motocross, competed in fitness shows, was a personal trainer and a Zumba instructor. I was also an adventurer who loved anything from skydiving, rock climbing, and snowboarding, down to simpler adventures like biking, hiking…and, everything in between.

On May 14, 2012 I was hit by a trolley train while riding my bike to work. I suffered a C5 spinal cord injury, three skull fractures, a broken scapula, broken ribs, a punctured lung and some slight brain bleeding.

Even after my injury, I’m still set on getting out and living life to the fullest. I’ve continued in therapy. I’ve graduated from Great Basin College with my associate of science and have been engaged to the one and only… Jared Braaten.

Now, I love spending my time with family and friends, of course, and also painting. I also enjoy shooting my crossbow, and making time for motivational speaking in hopes of uplifting anybody facing adversity.

I’ve always enjoyed shooting (a lot of my family hunts) so I’m super stoked to be able to get out and join them this year with the guys from Nevada Outdoorsmen in Wheelchairs! I couldn’t be more thankful for this opportunity.
